DARLINGTON have been drawn to play away to Solihull Moors in the first round of the FA Trophy.

The game will be played the weekend of December 14th with £4,500 going to the winners (losers receive £1,500).

Solihull are third in the National League, and unbeaten in five matches, a run that includes a 1-0 win at Hartlepool United on November 5.

Darlington overcame Gainsborough Trinity in Saturday’s third qualifying round, winning 2-1 at Blackwell Meadows – it was Quakers’ first win in the Trophy since 2015.

The trip to Solihull will be Darlington’s first in the first round proper of the FA Trophy since becoming a fan-owned club in 2012.

Their previous game at this stage of the competition was a 3-2 win over Tamworth in December 2010 in front of 432 spectators at the Arena, though considerably more were in attendance by the end of the season as Darlington lifted the Trophy at Wembley.
