A CHILDREN'S theatre has received £1,000 from Darlington Bondgate Roundtable to help further their vision for creativity to be part of everybody’s childhood.

Darlington Bondgate Roundtable raise money every year from Darlington and the surrounding area and distribute the money back into the local community.

The Hullabaloo will use this donation to revitalise their much-loved picture book corner with new books, and support reception children from Darlington primary schools to see a show at the venue.

Bosses say their offerings, most importantly the Creative Play space, home to a rolling programme of free play installations, ensure creativity is available to all Darlington children in a fun, inclusive and safe space.

Artistic Producer Miranda Thain said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this generous donation from Darlington Bondgate Roundtable, an organisation that is firmly rooted in our local community.

"Our book corner, family craft activities and creative play are all well used by a range of families.

"As a charity committed to ensuring that creative opportunities for all children, this money will enable us to welcome more children and their grown-ups to The Hullabaloo.”

Mark Anderson, chairman of Darlington Bondgate Roundtable, added: “Once again we are delighted to support Theatre Hullabaloo for much needed books to help young children develop creatively and to assist with young children from local schools to attend a show there.”
