More than 1,000 signatures have been collected by campaigners to protect trees at Blackwell Grange

Mr Green said: "The icing on the cake was the recognition of the work which has been going on since 2013 in the Park West Community and wider on the conservation and protection of the Historic Parkland.

"This has really given a validation to all groups and individuals working towards protecting the Parkland, and says that they are not wrong in their desire to keep this for the present and future generations."
