A DAD and daughter duo are pulling on their walking boots as they prepare to take on the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge in support of a Darlington church.

Fifteen-year-old Kaci McVay will be joining her father, Garry Miller, as they attempt to scale the peaks at a total height of 3,408 metres to be completed in just 48 hours.

Selfless Kaci was inspired by her dad who walked the infamous Coast to Coast route for charity last year.

The teenager decided she wanted to to give something back to the community and approached her father who agreed to take part in the challenge with some friends.

The will be completing the climb over the weekend to take them across three countries and up three British mountains.

Their efforts are all to raise funds for the overdue repair of the church hall floor at St James the Great, in Albert Hill. The church hosts a weekly coffee and tea morning every week on Wednesday immediately following the 9.30am mid-week service open to all.
