ONE player has left Darlington today and another has arrived, taking the club’s tally of signings in March to five.

Attacking midfielder Osagi Bascome has joined the club and goes straight into the squad to face Chester on Wednesday at Blackwell Meadows.

Bascome had been playing at the regional level in Spain for Massanassa, having previously had a short spell at Championship side Bristol City, where he did not make a first-team appearance.

The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in Bermuda’s 3-1 win away to the Dominican Republic in a Concacaf Nations League qualifier on Sunday, which qualified the island for the Gold Cup for the first time.

He follows Omar Holness in adding an international flavour to Quakers’ squad.

Holness, who has been capped by Jamaica, joined last Friday and another additions in March, at least on a short-term basis, have been Jake Turner, Ben Jackson and Kit Elliott.

Turner, a goalkeeper, is on loan from Bolton Wanderers while Jackson and Elliott are on loan from Huddersfield and both were named on the substitutes bench on Saturday when Darlington won 2-1 at Nuneaton Borough.

However, Jack Vaulks has today left the club and joined Shildon.

The 19-year-old has recently been on loan at in the Evo-Stik East League with Pickering Town and earlier this campaign had a loan spell with Whitby Town.

Shildon manager Daniel Moore told his club’s website: “Jack is another young hungry prospect to join the club.

“He has a desire to progress up the pyramid and as a club that is our aim so it is a great fit.

“For a young age to have played the amount of games he has, in leagues above the Northern League, is brilliant and I believe he will be a great signing for us in our push for promotion next season.”

Vaulks is the second player to leave Darlington in March following Liam Hughes, who moved to Gainsborough Trinity. Ben O'Hanlon joined Hednesford Town on loan towards the end of February.
