BRIAN LITTLE and Kevan Smith are returning to Darlington to reminisce about their glory days with Quakers three decades ago.

Little was manager and Smith captain became Darlington legends when the club won back-to-back titles in 1990 and ’91, winning promotion from the Conference and Division Four in successive seasons.

Little, from Newcastle and a striker with Aston Villa in his playing days during the 1970s, was appointed Quakers boss in 1989 after leaving a coaching position with Middlesbrough.

After his exploits with Darlington he was headhunted by Leicester City and took them into the Premier League and he went on to manage Villa, Stoke, West Brom, Hull City and Tranmere Rovers.

Darlington’s double success in the early ’90s made it three promotions with Quakers for Stockton-born Smith, who is fourth in the club’s all-time appearance list with 440 games.

Taking place on Friday, November 2, Little and Smith will be the guest speakers at the Mercure King’s Head Hotel.

Tickets are £40, which includes a three-course meal, auction, raffle and live music.

For ticket details contact Tori Gill on 07736-471441 or search for the event online on at eventbrite.co.uk

Proceeds from the evening will go towards production of full-length feature film called Give Them Wings, the true story of wheelchair-bound Darlington fan Paul Hodgson.

In addition, proceeds will also be donated to the Percy Hedley Foundation, a charity which provides a specialist and personalised care and education support to disabled people and their families.
