THE Rotary Club of Darlington has a new man in charge following its annual celebration.

Around 150 Rotarians family and friends attended the official Handover of the Presidency of The Rotary Club of Darlington to Rotarian Paul Robinson recently at Headlam Hall.

Retiring President Steve Rose handed over the chain of office to Mr Robinson with his best wishes for his Presidential year.

In his retiring speech Mr Rose thanked the club for all the support over his year in office and listed some of the fundraising achievements that had been undertaken and the better links that Darlington have forged with District and other Rotary clubs in the area and further afield.

He thanked several people by name before presenting Rotarian Ken Wiper with a prestigious Paul Harris award for his services to the club.

Several members had just returned from a charity bike ride and on the night a raffle raised £450 for the general local charity fund.
