TICKETS have gone on sale for the Darlington Orchestra's annual summer concert next month.
The event presents an eclectic mix of classical music with pieces ranging from Beethoven to Burt Bacharach, and from lively Hungarian folk tunes to a summery Gershwin medley.
Conductor David Plews said: “We’re all looking forward to presenting the laidback sounds of Gershwin contrasting with the profound depth of Beethoven, with many more musical styles in between. And we won't have done our job if we don't send the audience home humming some of the tunes.
“At this year’s summer concert, we are also welcoming talented Ukrainian violinist Iryna as leader of the orchestra while our long-term leader Angie takes a year out.”
A printed programme with background details about all the pieces being performed is available free of charge to the audience.
Tickets, for the show on Saturday, July 7, are available from The Dolphin Centre in advance and cost £7 or £5 concessions.
