DARLINGTON will discover today how likely their game tomorrow at Tamworth is likely to go ahead.
The clubs have maintained a dialogue this week, the Staffordshire outfit keeping Quakers informed of the conditions at The Lamb Ground, and Tamworth will today make a statement on the chances of tomorrow’s fixture going ahead.
The league is allowing clubs to use discretion and, while more snow is forecast tonight, Tamworth’s artificial pitch means there is a greater chance of the game going ahead compared to other fixtures in the division.
Already three games in the National League North have been postponed: Blyth Spartans v Southport, FC United v Gainsborough Trinity and Kidderminster v York City.
Darlington are hoping to extend their good run of results – one defeat in seven games – against a team in poor form, Tamworth having won only one of their last ten league games at home.
Meanwhile, Joe Wheatley has been named in the England C squad for a friendly against Wales in Wales on Tuesday, March 20.
