UNIFORMED professionals have joined teachers to come up with a new campaign of courses designed to train the growing army of students interested in public services.
Staff from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force, police, special constabulary, Darlington Borough Council and the Fire and Rescue Service attended a special meeting at Darlington College. The college runs national certificate courses in public services for students hoping to join up.
Tutor Helen Cook said: "We enjoy a fantastic relationship with the various agencies and their input is vital in shaping the courses students take.
"The public services staff also give students a powerful insight into life in the services."
