DRAINAGE SYSTEM
DURING my almost daily walk into town from the Geneva Road area of Darlington, it is impossible not to see the blocked-up state of most of the road drainage system.
If money had been spent on this, I feel it would have been better received by council tax payers than the "accident waiting to happen" in the so-called Pedestrian Heart, visited by more than 100 buses an hour because there is no bus station.
Are councillors not obliged to "walk" their wards to see what needs immediate attention, instead of sitting in offices formulating grandiose schemes on which to spend our money? - JA Telford, Darlington.
SCHOOL REUNION
MAY I say a big thank you to all who attended the Hurworth School reunion at Headlam Hall, Gainford, County Durham. It was so nice to meet up with old friends and catch up with happenings throughout the year.
After 60 or so years it is quite an achievement. The reunion next year is scheduled for Saturday, July 5. - Doreen Turner (nee Hodgson), Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
