A DENTAL nurse is appealing for the return of her wedding and engagement rings which went missing when she left them in a tanning salon.

Michelle Britton took her rings off when she attended a sunbed session at Tan 4U, in Woodland Road, Darlington. She accidentally left the rings in the changing booth when she left the salon.

When she returned half an hour later, the rings were gone. Police were called, but the rings have not been recovered.

She said: "It is the first time they have ever come off my finger. I know it is my own fault for leaving them there, but you don't expect people to take them."

She is appealing to anyone who knows where the rings are to drop them into Lance Robson Dental Surgery, in Woodland Road, where she works as a dental nurse.

The 27-year-old, who has been married for five years, and is originally from Guilford, in Surrey, said: "I was crying from about 3.30pm to 11pm.

"I am absolutely devastated."

Anyone who has information about the rings is asked to contact Darlington police on 0845-60-60-365.
