DARLINGTON carers enjoyed a coffee afternoon this week for national carers' week.
The Darlington Association on Disability's Carers' Support Service hosted the event at the Friend's Meeting House, off Skinnergate.
About 40 guests attended the afternoon, which included a raffle, guess the weight of the cake competition and a quiz.
Carer Susan Hird said: "It's a social event, but the first thing you talk about is the type of caring you do. It also helps to share your experiences and knowledge."
Janet Cooke added: "People say there's nothing going on, but if they look for it, there's plenty going on."
Other events organised by the association include stress-buster sessions at West Lodge, in West Crescent, on the second Monday of every month, and a social group every month.
