DARLINGTON Flower Club has called off several meetings to allow for renovation work at a historic church.
Repairs to the roof of St Cuthbert’s Church means flower arranging classes have been cancelled until further notice.
The club will next meet on Wednesday, October 5, while the club’s annual open day on Wednesday, November 2 will feature a fashion show, stalls, refreshments and a demonstration by Nick Grounds entitled Seasonal Anticipation.
Member Doreen Howson said their last event had been an enjoyable success, adding: “We had a very entertaining afternoon when Nigel Whyles based his demonstration on James Bond films and music.
“One of his containers was made from a car tyre to depict the Aston Martin.”
