A scheme to encourage families to make healthier food and lifestyle choices would like to hear from groups in Darlington.
The leaders of the Healthier Communities Nutrition Project are aiming to develop community- based schemes such as food co-operatives and lunch clubs, and are trying to find out what is going on in the town.
The project will work with children and their families through schools, community partnerships and children's centres.
The nutrition project, which is funded through a Local Area Agreement until 2009, is run by community dietician Julie Blakey, and food and health co-ordinator Cheryl Omnes.
They would like to hear about any food or health-related activities in the Darlington area, from Beaver and Scouts groups working for cooking badges to a group teaching people to cook on a budget.
Anyone who can help or would like more information on the project can contact the team on 01325-746120.
