A NORTH-EAST museum is going full steam ahead with plans to take exhibits on a tour of local schools.
Darlington Railway Museum held a Victorian toys and games week earlier this month, and more than 250 pupils from across the borough paid a visit.
The sessions were such a hit that staff at the museum have agreed to take the exhibits into schools to show them to more children.
Councillor Lee Vasey, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for leisure services, said: "This is one of the many activities at the museum which really bring history to life."
The museum closes in Easter for 12 months for a comprehensive revamp.
