CHILDREN in an area of Darlington are to help design the centrepiece of their refurbished park.
The Pensbury Street Residents' Group is working to transform the park in their road.
Two workshops, with artist Jo Brewster, are being held for youngsters in the road to design a sculpture for the area.
Lisa Kwok, from Groundwork, said: "She will be doing carving with the older group. We want to generate ideas with them to put in the park.
"We are going to let them decide what Pensbury Street means to them."
The workshops will take place tomorrow.
The first will be for children under 11, from 10am to 12.30pm. Children under nine must be accompanied by an adult.
Children over 11 will be invited to the afternoon session, from 12.30pm to 3pm.
Both workshops, which are free, take place at the Groundwork office in Victoria Road.
