A SIGNALLING problem which caused trains between Darlington and Eaglescliffe to be cancelled or delayed has been fixed.
Commuters faced lengthy delays following the signalling problems which were caused by vandalism in the Dinsdale area.
As a result, trains that usually run between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn only ran between Bishop Auckland and Darlington and Middlesbrough and Saltburn.
However, National Rail said the problem has been fixed and trains are now running as normal.
The first trains to run were the 12.57pm Saltburn to Darlington and the 1.30pm Darlington to Saltburn services.
Buses will continue to run between Middlesbrough and Darlington to supplement the train service.
