HOMEOWNERS have been warned to be on their guard against bogus callers after lead flashing was stolen from two houses in Darlington.
Three men dressed in high-visibility vests knocked on doors in Wilson Street between 10am and noon yesterday (Thursday, February 26) and offered to replace lead flashing on bay windows with felt, free of charge. Two properties have then had their flashing stolen .
Anyone with any information about the theft, or the whereabouts of stolen lead, is asked to contact police in Darlington on 101, quoting reference DHM-26022015-0139, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
