AN equestrian team from Darlington enjoyed success at a recent event.
The four-strong team from Polam Hall School rode to victory in the Yorkshire Equestrian Team Challenge, at the Great Yorkshire Showground, in Harrogate.
The event consists of teams of four who do battle at both junior and senior level across four different groups – schools and colleges, riding clubs, hunts and individual teams.
The main arena is split into two rings with a working hunter course and a show-jumping course. Each competitor has the opportunity to jump both courses.
After this stage the winners of each category are given rosettes to mark their achievement.
The top six teams then go into a final jump off with fewer jumps but over the full arena to find the overall champions.
The Polam Hall team – which consisted of Anna Robinson, Hannah Raw, Alex Moorhouse and Hannah Guy – won the schools competition and were awarded rosettes and went through to the final jump off, after which they were declared overall winners.
