AN event to raise awareness of the importance of carers in Darlington takes place next week.
The Carers' Rights Day will be held next Friday, from 1pm to 4pm, in the King's Head Hotel, in Priestgate.
Representatives of Darlington Borough Council's adult social services team and welfare rights unit, Darlington Association on Disability (Dad) and other agencies will be attending.
The event will highlight the needs of carers, show which benefits they are entitled to and ensure that they know their rights.
There will also be information on the Live Darlington card, which offers discounts to carers at leisure and arts venues throughout the area.
Everyone is welcome to attend and, for more information about the event, contact the DAD Carers' Support Service on 01325-357533.
