RESIDENTS have helped to draw up an action plan for an area of Darlington affected by anti-social behaviour.
The list was made after a meeting at Whessoe Village Hall last week to discuss the problems in Harrowgate Hill.
A survey was passed round for people to make their requests and local campaigner Gill Cartwright, who chaired the meeting, collated the information.
Residents said they had suffered damage to cars, theft from cars, damage to their homes, theft and verbal abuse.
They also feel intimidated while out at night and many do not leave their house after dark.
People said action needed to be taken to combat the anti-social behaviour.
Suggestions included the formation of an action committee; police targeting known offenders; a ban on drinking alcohol in public; closing access into the park at Harrowgate Farm; offering more activities for local young people; imposing a dispersal order for Harrowgate Farm; a greater police presence; shops to stop selling alcohol; lighting in the park and involving parents
