A DARLINGTON woman's childhood dream has come true with the opening of her own barber shop.
Stacey Robertson, 29, previously worked in other barber shops in the town but fulfilled her ambition by opening Robertson’s Barbers on Haughton Green.
Robertson’s Barbers has taken over part of a shop formerly occupied by a ladies' hairdresser.
Miss Robertson, a single mother of two, said: “The right place came up at the right time and I thought I should just go for it.
"I have always wanted to do this since I was five-years-old." A mum of two boys, Alex, eight, and James, two, Miss Robertson is able to juggle her career and home life by sharing part-time hours with two other members of staff, to cover the late night and weekend opening hours.
Having put all her savings into the new venture, Miss Robertson, who specialises in hot towel shaves with a cut throat razor, is committed to making the barbers a success.
Her first promotion for the opening of the barber shop is a father and son day on Bank Holiday Monday.
