DOZENS of vintage and classic cars will come to Darlington during the bank holiday weekend for a show remembering a bygone era.

Organised by the Northern Bygones Society, the event will take place in the Horsemarket on Saturday, May 4 and Bank Holiday Monday, May 6.

Vintage vehicle owners from around the region will bring their cars to the town for the free show, which is open to the public between 10am and 4pm.

The Northern Bygones Society was formed in January 2011, and is open to everyone with an interest in vintage and classic vehicles, as well as other vintage collectables, including model cars, pocket watches, spoons and thimbles.

Paul Jackson, from the society, said: “This is a great opportunity for older people to take a trip down memory lane, and for the younger generation it’s a chance to see some piece of living history.

“There are some fascinating stories behind the vehicles, and there will be plenty of opportunity to chat to the owners.”

Entries to the show are welcomed from society members and also non-members, who can enter vehicles for free.
