THE Friends of Rockwell Nature Reserve is having a litter pick in conjunction with Litterfree Durham’s Big Spring Clean on the reserve on Saturday (April 6). Meet at the Hutton Avenue / Riverside Way footbridge at 10am.

SCHOOL REUNION: A reunion of former staff and pupils from the old Darlington Technical School, near North Lodge Park, will be held on Friday, April 19, at 7.30pm, at the Junior Unionist Club, in Commercial Street. The event has been organised as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the closure of the school. People attending are encouraged to take along old photographs or memorabilia they wish to share. A contribution of £1 from all those attending will be collected to cover costs. Additional donations will be gratefully received.

DAY TRIPS: The Darlington WEA is organising two full days out by private coach. The first is to Nostell Priory, a National Trust property in West Yorkshire on Thursday, May 16, and the second is to Holker Hall in south Lakeland on Wednesday, June 5. For more information, call 01325-281909.

COFFEE MORNING: The 21st Darlington Scout Group holds its Easter coffee morning on Saturday (April 6), from 10am to noon, at St Mark’s Church Hall, in North Road, Darlington. There will be a raffle, tombola, cake stall and meat draw.
