A TEA dance recreating the best of the 1940s dance halls is to be held each month after the success of an annual event.

Age UK, in Darlington, has invited a specialist DJ who has a large collection of forties music, including swing, the Charleston, sways, Palais Glides and others, to take part in the first monthly event.

Gillian Peel, CEO of Age UK Darlington, said: “We are very excited about the 1940s tea dance. Since we started hosting an annual event demand has just grown and grown.

“It is always very exciting to take part in or watch with many people choosing to dress the part.”

The first monthly event will take place on Tuesday, March 26, at 3.15pm, at Bradbury House, in Beaumont Street West, in Darlington.

To take part, call Age UK Darlington on 01325-362832, as places will be limited.
