A COUNCIL leader has stressed the importance of sexual assault victims asking for help, ahead of a conference on the issue.
The multi-agency event will be held at Darlington Rugby Club’s Blackwell Meadows ground on Friday (February 15).
Durham Police, the NHS and Darlington Borough Council are among the stakeholders for the event, which is being held under the Safer Darlington Partnership banner.
Council leader Bill Dixon said: “It is important that everyone in Darlington can feel safe and that victims of sexual violence know that they have somewhere to turn for help.”
