A DRIVER who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released by police.
The collision happened at 4.40am on the southbound carriageway just south of Sutton Scotney services.
Police say that five people were travelling in the white Ford Transit minibus at the time of the crash. The dead man was a passenger.
He has yet to be named, but police say he and the other passengers were from Middlesbrough.
The 19-year-old driver of the minibus is from Hartlepool. He was held yesterday but released under investigation on Tuesday, say Hampshire Police.
- Note: Police have clarified the home towns of those involved. Yesterday, Hampshire Police said the driver was from Durham and the victims North Yorkshire. They have since changed this to Hartlepool and Middlesbrough, respectively.
