AN environmentally-friendly holiday site was fully booked during its first week of business.
The Ecobuild development, on the outskirts of Richmond, opened for the half-term holiday last week, and all ten lodges were rented out.
Owners of the development are also celebrating being named runner-up in the environment category of the 2006 Landmark Awards.
The lodges, on a 50-acre site at Aislabeck, incorporate a range of green features, including living plant-based roofs, insulation made from recycled paper, spring water for drinking and electricity from green suppliers.
The scheme was also recognised in last year's Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' Pro-Yorkshire design awards.
Ecobuild director Simon Spence, said: "We are thrilled to have reached the final three nominations for the Landmark environment title and to have been selected alongside some of the region's most prestigious building projects."
The site is managed as a conservation area and a wildlife pond has been created in front of the lodges.
