YOUNG rugby players have been rubbing shoulders with two professionals.
The Leeds Tykes community team visited Wensleydale RUFC, near Leyburn, for a two-day rugby camp during the school half-term holiday.
The camp was led by British Lion legend John Bentley and involved 30 youngsters aged from seven to 16.
Leeds Tykes players Tom Biggs and James Parkes spoke to the young players about life as a professional rugby player.
Nick Fletcher, the Tykes marketing manager, said: "We have a fantastic relationship with Wensleydale rugby club that has built tremendously over the past few seasons.
"The support we receive from them as a club is fantastic. We are extremely pleased that we have been able to come up and help them back in return by helping to develop the sport at grassroots level.
"It is a fantastic opportunity for youngsters to receive coaching from one of the British Lions greats and meet two of Leeds Tykes finest players."
