AMATEUR photographers are invited to showcase their skills at Saltburn's pageant of light.

The event, which celebrates the end of British Summer Time, takes place tomorrow at Saltburn Valley Woodland Centre.

As part of the festivities, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is inviting amateur photographers to enter a competition to find the best images of the event.

All entries will be displayed in Saltburn Library.

The winner will receive a large framed print of their entry and the picture will be published on the front page of the next edition of the council's magazine, River Coast and Country.

The event is being organised in conjunction with Friends of the Valley Community Group, and members of the group will judge the competition.

Entries should be submitted to Dawn Raw, Countryside Section, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Fairway House, Limerick Road, Redcar, TS10 5JU, by Friday, November 10. They should include a name and address.

The competition is open to all ages. Submitted entries cannot be returned.

The pageant includes a procession of music and light, which starts at 5.30pm, from the Cat Nab car park and finishes at Saltburn Woodland Centre.

The council asks photographers to get permission if taking pictures of individuals and families at the event.

The night's entertainment is free, but there will be aa donations box, with proceeds to the Friends of the Valley
