Horden Comrades made a fine recovery to beat the visiting Leadgate Coach and Horses in the decider.

The visitors took the doubles by the odd point and them went 4-1 ahead only to see the home side fight back. The singles results (Horden Comrades names first) were George Hodgson 21.78 lost to Lee Rushton 21.30; Jimmy Ashett 24.24 beat David Brown 21.06; Darren Herron 22.55 beat David Bridge 20.80; Paul Clark 25.93 beat Chris Dominey 25.20; Adrian Jennings 21.88 lost to Ian Hambleton 21.33; Eric Sandwick 25.09 beat Raymond Foreman 23.12.

In a key title match, Hartlepool Victoria Arms entertained Ferryhill Club and only managed to pick up one point. This moved Ferryhill up to second place, five points ahead of their hosts who slipped to third. Crook Coach and Horses lead the table by three points.

Bishop Auckland King's Head moved into second place after they recovered from being held to a draw after six games when they visited Darlington Builder's Arms.

However the King's were strong to the finish and took the remaining thee points. After King's had won the doubles by the odd point, the individual results (Builder's Arms names first) were Marianne Macdonald 12.47 lost to Dorothy Renwick 12.85; Sam Johnson 11.85 lost to Barbara Smith 12.22; Suzanne Jones 17.07 lost to Cheryl Wooff 17.58; Christine Foster 14.96 beat Dawn Lennon 12.15; Jean Westmorland 10.33 beat Ann Huntley 9.66; Michelle Thompson 10.29 lost to Bryanna Downs 15.42.

In the top of the table clash, Sacriston Daisy Hill retained their unbeaten record with an odd point win over the visiting Brandon Cricket Club, who slipped to equal third place with West Cornforth Carrs.
