The qualifying stage for the League Pairs Championship was held at four venues with the winners from each moving forward to the Grand Finals Night. Truby Tool Hire League

Esh Cricket Club established an eight point lead at the top of the table after they only dropped three points on their visit to Newhouse Club. The cricketers took both trebles and then had singles wins from David Thornton, Jonathan Chambers, John Carmedy and Alan Brown with Bill Atkin and Steve Wilkie replying. The home side took the first doubles but the cricketers ended by winning the remaining two doubles.

There were 180's from Kristyn Gwynnette of the North Point, Jason Heslop of the Stag's Head and Peter Coulson of Starr's Bar, whilst Bill Railton hit two 140's for the Moss Inn with 140s from Barry Bayles for the Royal Oak and Joe Storey and John Chambers for Esh CC and John Gilchrist for Newhouse.

Tow Law New Market A are second, three points ahead of Esh Stag's Head, who have a match in hand.

Crook IC Davison Ladies League

Crook Coach and Horses got their first whitewash victory of the season when they visited Crook Queen's Head B. This kept them in second place as the leading Crook Football Club won by three points at Crook Belle Vue Club to stay nine point clear at the top. Tow Law Football Club are third, seven points behind the Coach, but with an extra match played.

The leading individual scorers were Carol Stewart 140 for Crook footballers, Carol Mason 134 for the George, Susan Dixon 127 for the New Market

Wear Valley Ladies League

Newfield Club, third in the table, visited league leaders, Crook Golden Fleece A and provided their hosts with their toughest match of the season so far. However, the leaders retained their unbeaten record by winning by the odd point. Crook Coach and Horses cut the lead to eight points after only dropping two to the visiting Crook Royal Sun Inn. Newfield are five points behind the Coach.

The leading scorers were Diane Freeman and Angela McDonald 140.

Belle Vue moved further ahead at the top whilst Cricket Club and Fleece A share second spot after the Cricketers beat fourth placed Old Horseshoe. Billy Row Club, The George and Coach and Horses pulled away from the rest in division two after they all picked up nine points.

Frosterley Inn produced the first whitewash of the season when they visited Stanhope Bonny Moor Hen to move top from Stanhope Queen's Head, who lost their unbeaten record at the Golden Lion. Rookhope Inn started well at Ireshopeburn by then the home side took five of the six singles to win by four points.
