TEXTILE skills practised on the other side of the world have been demonstrated on Teesside.
New Zealand artist Anna Bates led a Maori weaving workshop at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, Middlesbrough, yesterday.
She wove flax and other natural materials to make nets, containers and ornaments, as part of a programme of events to entertain visitors to the museum during the half-term holiday.
