DURHAM continued their good form in the CB 40 League when they dismissed Glamorgan for 162 at Colwyn Bay.

With Paul Collingwood ruled out by the hand injury he suffered while batting on Friday, Durham brought in reserve wicketkeeper Michael Richardson, who has been the top run scorer in the second team this season.

This seemed to leave them light on bowling with one-day skipper Dale Benkenstein reluctant to turn his arm over because of his shoulder problem.

Given the recent struggles of Liam Plunkett and Scott Borthwick it looked a risky strategy, but with Chris Rushworth and Ben Stokes taking two wickets each Glamorgan were five down inside 18 overs.

The left-handed opening pair of Gareth Rees and Mark Wallace had 39 on the board in the fifth over before wickets began to tumble.

Plunkett conceded 26 in three overs but didn’t need to be recalled as Glamorgan were all out with 5.3 overs unused. Stokes finished with three for 23, Borthwick bowled well for two for 27 and there were even a couple of wickets for Will Smith.
