BURGLARS used a stolen digger to remove a cash machine from a supermarket during an early-hours ram-raid in a sleepy market town.
Thieves struck at the Co-op store, in Park Street, Masham, North Yorkshire, shortly before 3am this morning.
They used a stolen JCB digger to prise the machine away from the wall, before lifting it onto a flat-bed trailer, said a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police.
It is understood the raiders may have escaped with a quantity of cash, though police have not commented on this.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to get in touch. Call 101.
