A YOUNGSTER who suffered head injuries after being involved in a hit and run accident remains in a stable condition in hospital.
The five-year-old boy was hurt after being struck by a car on Sydenham Road, Hartlepool, just before 9pm on Sunday night.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, by ambulance suffering from a head injury and cuts and bruises.
Police are trying to trace the driver of a silver Ford Fiesta which was involved in the collision.
