A MAN died after a collision between a bus and a car on a North-East bridge.
The car driver, who has not been named but was in his 40s, died at the scene of the crash on the Gateshead side of the Redheugh Bridge across the River Tyne.
The bus driver and a number of passengers on the single-deck vehicle suffered minor injuries in the incident late on Saturday night.
The bridge, which links Gateshead and Newcastle, was closed for more than five hours after the collision.
