THREE fire crews were tonight called to a blaze involving 150 bales on the outskirts of a market town.
The fire service was called to the scene, near the roundabout on Boroughbridge Road, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, at 8.30pm.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said that by 10pm, the fire had been brought under control, and only one crew was expected to remain at the scene overnight as a precaution.
The service received ten calls from concerned householders in the area.
Smoke from the blaze could be seen up to four miles away.
