DETECTIVES hunting attackers who severely beat a man in a suspected attempted murder attempt have released a further appeal for public help.

Dominic Conlan, of York, was left with life threatening injuries after he was attacked in the city three weeks ago.

He was savagely attacked in his flat on March Street during the early hours of Saturday, January 8.

The 56-year-old remains in Leeds General Infirmary with severe head injuries.

York Police have spoken to local people and have put up posters carrying details of the attack near his home.

Detective Inspector Adrian Gathercole, of York CID, said: "We are still missing the crucial information that will lead us to whoever inflicted Mr Conlan's horrific injuries.

"Mr Conlan was subjected to a vicious and sustained attack which has left him fighting for his life.

There are people out there who know what happened to him. I ask those people to think about Mr Conlan in hospital and his family who pray for his recovery."

Police are also looking for a white tracksuit top with green stripes on the arm and a black coloured Dell laptop belonging to Mr Conlan which are missing.

The police have arrested 11 people in connection with the attack and all have been released on bail without charge.
