Lead stolen from business EMPLOYEES of a roofing company arrived at work yesterday to find lead had been stolen from their roof.

The metal had been stripped from the business premises of Richardson Roofing, in Coniscliffe Road, Darlington.

Police suspect that the theft happened at some point over the weekend. Anyone with information is asked to contact Darlington police on 0345-60-60-365.

HELPING OUT:People aged 60 and over who live on their own are being offered a free helping hand. Rely on Me, operated by Age Concern Darlington, connects people to their communities by matching them with volunteers who can support them with small household and garden tasks. The charity is on the lookout for volunteers to help. CAR ATTACK:A car has been covered with a corrosive substance. The liquid was poured onto a red Ford Mondeo parked in Cartmell Terrace, Darlington, between 9pm on Sunday and 6.30am on Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call 0345-60-60-365.
