A YOUNG musician who has played for royalty will play at a gala concert at Ripon Cathedral.

Violinist Chloe Hanslip has played twice for the Duke of Edinburgh and is a regular performer at the Royal Albert Hall.

The 18-year-old has recorded an album with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

In the UK, she mainly performs in the south of the country and has also played in the US.

She is to perform on the night with the St Cecilia Orchestra, which will play works by Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky and Stravinksy, on Saturday, September 9.

Tickets for the concert, at 7.30pm, are £12 for adults, £10 students and concessions and £5 for children.

They are available at the door on the night, or in advance at Ripon Travel, Ripon Cathedral Shop, Ripon City Music and Ripon Tourist Information Centre.
