A DRIVER is celebrating after becoming the first person to claim a blue chip prize given by a multi-storey car park.
Claire Rudd, 27, a marketing firm studio manager from Gateshead, regularly uses the Prince Bishops Centre car park, in Durham, when visiting clients in the city centre.
The prize is part of a promotion called Cool Blue, celebrating the car park getting the Park Mark Safer Parking Award from the Association of Chief Police Officers for the seventh time.
Every Monday and Tuesday until September 12 , a blue chip coin will be hidden among the yellow ones - chip coins have replaced paper tickets - given to people who park at the Prince Bishops.
The person who receives the blue one will receive £200 worth of shopping vouchers to spend at stores in the complex.
Ms Rudd said: "I couldn't believe my luck really. I was straight in to Monsoon for a pair of shorts. I'm off on holiday next month and I've had my eye on a pair, so I'll have a bit more spending money now as well"
