A post-mortem carried out on a 21-year-old man from North Yorkshire who disappeared during a night out in Newcastle has found he suffered serious injuries in a fall.
The body of Edinburgh University student Duncan Gibbon, of Swainby, near Northallerton, was found near the High Level Bridge on the Quayside on Wednesday.
The post-mortem examination was carried out earlier today, police said.
Mr Gibbon, who was studying physics student, was last seen in the Fever club, on the Quayside, at about midnight on Saturday.
His friends split into two groups as they left the bar, but each thought Mr Gibbon was with the other and he was not missed until late on Sunday.
