A MAN threatened staff at a newsagents with a knife before making off with a quantity of cash.
The suspect entered Devine News newsagents, in Clynes Road, Grangetown, Middlesbrough, at about 5pm, on Tuesday.
A member of staff was in the rear of the premises when a man climbed over the counter to the cash till, which he attempted to force open.
He then threatened the member of staff with a knife as she confronted him.
He made off with a quantity of cash along Clynes Road.
The attacker is described as white, early 20s, about 5ft 11ins tall, slim build and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a beige jacket, dark bottoms and gloves. He is believed to be in his early 20s and has a local accent.
Sergeant Nigel Reed, of Cleveland Police, said: "This was a particularly nasty incident which has left the victim traumatised."
