THE legend of a lost drummer boy has been depicted on the back of an ice cream kiosk.
Barrie Proctor has installed a Barrie's Ices booth in Richmond market place featuring the story of the Richmond drummer boy.
Mayor Linda Curran said: "The kiosk is an asset to the market place.
"Mr Proctor has worked with the town council to come up with a design that sits much better in our historic market place."
While president of Richmond Meet, Mr Proctor worked closely with the Green Howards Museum to revive the drummer boy legend.
He said: "I think the history and traditions in Richmond are important and I wanted my kiosk to highlight the drummer boy story."
According to legend, the drummer boy was sent by soldiers down a tunnel found at Richmond Castle.
It was hoped the tunnel would lead to Easby Abbey.
Troops followed the sound of his drum, but the sound stopped part way along the route and the boy was never seen again.
