CHARITY fundraisers trekked up one of England's highest peaks to raise more than £800 for a kids' club.

Tim Cooper and Andy Dunning scaled England's second highest mountain, Helvellyn, to raise funds for The Learning Tree Nursery and Kids Club. The pair were raising funds to buy outdoor equipment for the club, in Carlton Miniott.

Tim Cooper, nursery chairman, said in temperatures of 30 degrees it was the hardest walk they had done.

But he said that without such sponsored events, fees would have to go up.
