DURHAM Cathedral is hoping youngsters will take part in activities organised for the summer holidays.
The Durham Embroiderers' Guild will run textile workshops for eight to 16-year-olds from Monday to Friday, August 25.
The weekday sessions, from 10.30am to 1pm in the cathedral's education centre, will feature different aspects of the craft.
The sessions cost £3 and there is no need to book.
Eight to 16-year-olds - younger ones accompanied by an adult are also welcome - can enjoy musical games and activities in the Chapter House, between 10am and noon, from Monday, August 21, to Friday, August 25.
Chapter steward Anne Heywood said: "Some children might want to come each day and learn their parts of A Gospel Requiem - arranged by local composer Andy Jackson - which will then be performed in the cathedral at 6.30pm on Saturday, August 26.''
The cost of the workshop, which is being organised by the Durham People's Opera, is £3 per day or £12 for the week.
