STAFF at a Durham area supermarket have raised over £2,000 for charity.
Workers from the North Eastern Co-op in Brandon, near Durham, handed over the cash to Cancer Research UK yesterday. (mon)
It was raised to in memory of Ann Allison, a 50-year-old woman from the village who died of cancer in December last year.
Staff took part in a ten-mile sponsored walk, held a coffee morning and sale as well as a social evening to raise funds.
Cashier Ada Hutchinson said: "We have been involved in charity work for a number of years and decided that we would like to do something in her memory.
"We would like to thank everyone who took part in the events and everyone who has supported us."
