My cat has developed arthritis and my vet. told me to give her one baby asprin every three days. I have always heard that asprin is poisonous to cats. What shoud I do?

Dear Rosetta
Asprin is very toxic in cats and even a very small dose (1/4 of human tablet) can prove fatal so please dont use it. In the UK we have no licenced products for long term treatment of arthritis though we frequently use meloxicam (metacam)or carprofen (rimadyl). Ask about these.
